PETULA CLARK FINDS HER "DOUBLE"

"PET" always makes news.
One day she is recording in Paris. The next day she's appearing in another capital of Europe. A day later she rests in her mansion in the Cote d'Azur, next to her husband, Claude Wolff (who is her manager), and her two little daughters, Barbara and Catherine, 4 and 3 years of age.
Suddenly someone reminds her that she is to star in a musical film in Hollywood and she must travel immediately to the U.S., to sign the contract. It just so happens that Los Angeles is the ideal place for someone to discover his "double."
For her next film, Petula Clark will need to find her "double" in order to play a complicated role. Assistance for this task is provided by the show "9th Street West" a TV program very popular with North American teenagers. Its host is disc jockey, Sam Riddle.
A number of girls arrive at the show claiming that they look exactly like the singing star and English actress. And some, indeed, do resemble her. Among the finalists, one is finally selected: Joan Dideriksen, a 19 year old student from Sepulveda, California. In fact, Joan is identical to "Pet." Perhaps she will get the chance of appearing as Petula's double in the film. . .
Later, Petula will be booked to give a series of concerts at the Amassador Hotel's famed Cocoanut Grove nightclub.
